Water Baby

It is soooooo hot out! I could not, in good conscience, leave Liam in his stroller by the side of the pool anymore. He was going to get heat stroke! So, even though he is still so tiny, I went ahead and let him join in the fun in the pool. The extreme heat makes our pool feel like bath water anyway!
I think he was a fan!

Five Minutes of My Life

I just thought that you might enjoy a little sample of my day-to-day life. Please follow along as I recount a five minute segment of my afternoon....

Liam cries. It is time to feed him, so I do. While feeding Liam, Noah comes up.

"Hey Momma, can I have a snack?"

"When I am done feeding your brother."

"Ok". Walks into the kitchen. "Hey Momma! Look at all these dishes on the counter. Can I look at them?"

Thanks for reminding me I haven't cleaned the dishes. And, why do you want permission to look at them?

"Sure, Noah, whatever."

Pause. Liam continues eating.

"Oh no, Momma! There are ants everywhere! On this counter, they are everywhere!" (Translation: he saw a few sugar ants.) "Don't worry, I will kill them".

I watch as Noah walks into the living room, retrieves a shoe, and heads back to the kitchen. (Meanwhile, attempt to burp Liam, who hates being burped, and get whacked in the face as he thrashes his head around in protest.)

Bam! Bam! (Noah killing ants)...Crash.

"Sorry Momma, I knocked over some cups." Pause...."Hey Momma, I can't reach all these ants."

"That's ok Noah, I will get them later."

Pause.

"Momma! There is a caterpillar in the kitchen."

Now I am up. "Where?! Show me, now!"

"Never mind its gone."

"What did it look like Noah?"

"It was black, no brown, no kinda black. It was the size of a snake."

Oh shit.

As he walks toward the bathroom, "No it was the size of my little finger. No, it was the size of Liam's little finger."

Finishing feeding Liam while I roll my eyes and decide that the caterpillar can just have a heyday in my kitchen.

"Hey Momma, I pooped!"

Get up, put Liam down, head to bathroom, and help Noah wipe himself.

As he is bent over, with me literally wiping his butt, "Hey Momma? Wouldn't it be funny if I farted right now?"

Aren't you jealous of my life?

Liam's Debut

Why is it that I can endure day after day of chaos and small children and pull through calmly and efficiently, but a trip to Wal-Mart to print a picture CD drives me over the edge. Seriously, all I want to do is post some pictures of my newborn before he is asking me for the keys to my car. Is that too much to ask? Apparently it is.....

Well, since I still cannot get any pics from my camera uploaded to my computer (like from, say, Liam's birth, Noah's 4th birthday, Mother's day, Father's day, etc) I guess you will have to settle for the few random shots I have from my phone. At least you can finally see some cute Liam photos!

Liam, minutes after birth.

My boys!

Liam, a.k.a. "Bruiser".....12 pounds at 8 weeks old!
I love this picture...it looks like Liam is totally telling Noah off. He is already trying to keep up with big brother!
That is all for now. Hope you enjoy finally getting to see Liam (and that he DOES exist!) Also, hope you enjoy the new look of the blog. Figured after 3 years it was time to spruce it up a bit!

Happy (Belated) Father's Day

This is obviously a belated post seeing as how Father's Day was, what, 3 days ago? Anyhoo...

Even though I have no pictures to document it we had a fun Father's Day. It was great to celebrate what a great father Wes is to his boys. Seriously, many wives will say that because it sounds good, but Wes is an awesome dad. He spends just as much time caring for his children as I do and he works a ton. But, I know how much he loves them so he doesn't seem to mind chasing Noah around the house a million times each evening, pretending to be an evil T-Rex, or getting up (ever so calmly, I might add) to feed Liam in the middle of the night.

So, what does such a great dad get for Father's Day you may ask. What he asked for...Insanity!

No, we did not commit him for psychiatric care. By Insanity, I mean that he received in the mail the absolute hardest workout DVD's on the face of the planet. (And I say that with authority because we are both doing them!) Just google it and watch in horror as the website shows clips of people doing crazy hard workouts that leave even the instructor hunched over trying to catch a breathe. Don't feel sorry for him though. Wes is really loving his Insanity workouts - and I am too! His (and my) goal of being super buff my the end of the summer is well on its way to being achieved!

Happy Father's Day to the best (and most "insane") dad that I know!

We're Still Here!

Okay, it is clearly time for an update. And yet...we still have no pictures! Ahhh!

I have been so bad about blogging lately so I have decided to streamline things. I am only doing one blog from now on. (Which means every now and then some of you may be extremely bored listening to me talk about running, but so it goes!)

So what is new with us? Everything! Seriously. Life is much more hectic with two, but not in a bad way. Just in the way that sometimes I blink and 12 hours have gone by. Liam is doing well - almost 2 months old now! He is only waking up once in the middle of the night so we are getting some sleep at least. He has also started smiling and making cooing noises. It is so stinkin' cute! (A side note: He smiles the most when he is looking at Noah, which I think is awesome!)

Speaking of Noah, he had his birthday in May and is now 4....going on 25. Some of the things that come out of his mouth these days are just ridiculous! The other day, while sitting at a red light, he told me that he was sure that there was a place nearby where someone sat and pushed a button to change the light from red to green, and that on second thought, it probably wasn't a person but a dinosaur. (He is obsessed with dinosaurs!) He thinks that he can do anything he wants now that he is 4. His favorite phrase is "Well, I'm really big cause I'm 4".

I am running again (Yay!) but feeling pretty slow still. Hopefully I will be back to being speedier (for me) soon enough. Right now it just feels really good to be doing it again at all!

Wes is working a lot right now - even on the weekends some, because he joined the air force reserves - but when he is home he is having a blast playing with "his boys". He loves taking them to Moe's for "boys night out" and has been joining us at the pool (our summertime headquarters) whenever he can.

That's about it for now. I am working on the picture situation. Hopefully will have some to post sometime soon. (You know, before Liam is a toddler!)
